	Core Technology Platform Fonset Fast onset drug delivery (Fonset) is a proprietary delivery system that can disintegrate and dissolve rapidly in saliva without the co-administration of water, thereby promising rapid onset of therapeutic effects. By harnessing the unique properties of compendial materials, we have created formulations that can be directly compressed using conventional manufacturing processes Because our Fonset tablets have high mechanical strength and low friability there is no need for special packaging and handling, which results in significant cost-reductions in development, as well as commercialization.
OsmoCap-CAST Our OsmoCap drug delivery system is the next advance in delivery technology of the highly successful ALZA-OROS Osmotic Pump. The OsmoCap-CAST, for constant, ascending, spatial and temporal release, retains all the advantages of the OROS® Osmotic Pump: programmable release-rate profiles, good in-vitro in vivo correlation (IVIC), independence of the drug release rate on external factors in the GI such as presence of food, pH, stirring and motility as well as improved solubilization of poorly water soluble API’s. The OsmoCap has distinct additional advantages, including reduced drug residue in the spent system and no potential for osmotic layer channeling. This allows the membrane to degrade safely in the body without leaving unwanted artifacts.

Most importantly, the OsmoCap can be readily designed to match circadian rhythm for chronotherapy, to target biopharmaceutical formulations to different sections of gastrointestinal tract (targeting a vaccine formulation to the Peyer patches at the lower small intestine, targeting monoclonal antibody to the lower GI tract for inflammatory bowl diseases or a protein/peptide formulation to the colon for enhanced oral absorption), and to provide constant or ascending release profile as well.
L-OROS® L-OROS® is a novel controlled release system developed by ALZA/Johnson & Johnson. ADDS acquired the intellectual properties covering this technology from Johnson & Johnson. Not only does L-OROS® technology provide enhanced oral bioavailability but also imparts a controlled release profile for poorly water-soluble compounds. The L-OROS® system can incorporate many types of solubility-enhancing formulations, such as micelle formulations, self-emulsifying formulations or nano-suspensions.

As reported, almost 2/3 of new molecular entities (NMEs) at early development stage have poor solubility in an aqueous medium. Solubility is the main culprit for the high attrition rate and poor efficacy seen in drug development. L-OROS® holds great promise for solving this solubility issue.
